The truth is, these programs are very, very easy to install. You don’t need to know anything about computer programming. You don’t need to know anything, except for how to follow instructions very well, because almost every CGI program that I’ve ever seen comes with a “read me” file that tells you exactly what to do. As soon as you understand the terms and have installed a couple of programs, they are really a piece of cake!
Here’s an opportunity to charge site owners a flat fee to install their scripts for them. I say “a flat fee” because once you’ve installed a few scripts you’ll know exactly how much time it takes. It doesn’t take much time at all! Set it up so they can download the scripts for free.
Remember, you have to let them download the scripts for free, and every place you have a script listed, you should also list your cost for installing the script. This way they can download the script for free, and they know exactly what it is going to cost them for you to do it.

If you don’t want to do all this work yourself, it would be very easy to find some college students to do it for you. You could even find several college students and let each one of them specialize in one or two of the scripts. Every time you get an order for the scripts, you pick up the phone, call them, and say, “Hey, install this script for me. Here’s the information.” Then you split the money. You could actually do this even if you don’t want to get into the installation of the CGI scripts yourself.
How do you build your business? You’re going to list all the programs that you have and pick them in different categories, such as the popular referral “tell a friend” program, or the “shopping cart” program, right on down the line...calendar, order form, form mail, so someone can get anything they want right off your site. They can download it and get it installed.
So, how does it keep making profits for you? The longer people have been on the web, the more features they want to add! Also, each time they do, there’s a good chance that you can install another CGI script.

When they move their site, they’re not just transferring the site. Most times all those CGI scripts have to be reconfigured, because there are different paths to the program, and 90% of installing a CGI script is just telling it where to find information and where to put information. Therefore, when they change servers, that means there is another opportunity for you to work for them again. You continue to promote your business by sending periodic e-mails telling your customers about new CGI scripts that you have on your site, or other things that you can add to their site which will enhance it. That should keep you in more work than you can possibly handle!

A Rare And Unusual Way To Force People To Come Back To Your Web Site!
We have a friend who wanted a way to force people to come back to his site on a regular basis. He actually started out weekly or monthly, but now he does it more on a bi-weekly basis.
When he started it, he wanted people to come back, so he had a contest. To win the grand prize they actually had to go back to his site to find a particular phrase. He’d find a phrase on one of the pages and then, in his e-mail newsletter, he’d say “Look, here’s our brand new contest, you can win the prize if you’re the first person to find this phrase.”
All the people would scramble back to the web site and look. The best thing about it was it usually wasn’t on the first page. They had to really look through all the product listing and information about his other opportunities until they found it. It forced them to get back into the site and look over everything. Then, they could e-mail him, and say, “Hey, I was the first one.”
Then, he would award them the prize. In some cases, the prizes were actual products that he was selling, but in many cases, the prize was actual advertising on his Internet site. He could say, “Here, you get a banner. It’s worth $500.” His real cost was virtually nothing. It was just plastering that banner at the top or giving them some sort of an Internet ad in his mall. His prizes, then, became virtually free. It was something to get people back to his web site on a regular basis again and again and again.

Let’s point out another way that you can put your competition to work for you - That is by being your competition’s customer. Buy from your competition, because when you buy from them, you can identify what you can add or alter in the customer’s experience in the service, the development, the customer service, the way it’s packaged, the way it’s delivered, and get all of the information you need to make yourself, your products, and services stand out against the competition.

He said that many small business owners who even hear that Wal-Mart is coming into their small town immediately put up the “going out of business” sign. Wal-Mart might not even be opening up for another 6 or 8 months while they’re building the store, but those people are already gone.
Sam said that it really upset him. He used to get so upset over that -he said that it was simply ridiculous. First of all, why are you closing now? We aren’t even opening our doors for another 6 or 8 months. Second of all, he said that they needed to be closing their stores down and buying some real estate right across the street from where they were that new Wal-Mart. He said, “I’ll guarantee you, your profits are going to go higher than they’ve ever gone before if you’ll just take a little piece of property right across the street from where we’re building this new store and you reopen your business.”
Sam Walton also said that there are so many things that you as a small business person can do that there’s no way his large corporation can do. He said, “All we can do is give people great selection and great prices, but we can’t give them what they really, really, truly want in their heart – we can’t roll the red carpet out for each one of those customers.”

Thousands of mail-order dealers sell advertising space in circulars or in catalogs, newsletters, and other publications. Because they are in the same business you are, and are targeting the same buying audience, swapping space would benefit all parties involved.

In this article I’d like to go over some tips on the writing process. I know that’s something that we’ve all been working at avoiding. There is someone online right now that has a very large publicity package about how to write press releases and get a lot of free publicity and free advertising. It’s not us, even though we sell that type of information, but it is someone in that market selling that type of information.
It’s a very highly expensive package, in the area of $400 - $600. Now, that’s a hard sell if people don’t know you, don’t know your name, and are not sure what type of information they’re going to get. That’s a hard sell, getting people to spend $400 -$600 on the Internet.
What this person has done is brilliant. He has created a 30-40 page book that’s an introduction to writing press releases and getting publicity, and he has offered it free of charge to anybody who wants to download it. It’s a free e-book. And people have been rushing like crazy to get this e-book and download it, and once they download it, they get the information, and they see it’s valuable.
There is a link in that e-book that links from that book directly to this person’s web site where he can now push them on the bigger package.

That is spreading his e-book like crazy over the Internet. And every time some marketer gets that e-book and downloads it, they see information in the e-book that says they can now spread it to their people. It is spreading like wild fire. And of course that e-book then pushes people to the site that sells the bigger package.
This is a fantastic way to pull people in, give them a short taste of what you are selling, and then get them to spend even more money and sell your info products without spending a lot of money on marketing.

The first thing you need to do is get on-line. If you’re not on-line, if you don’t have a computer, there’s no excuse. You can still go to your public library and log on the Internet. College kids that volunteer there will show you how to do it, and get you on-line.
Next thing you know, you type in Ebay.com, and you’re visiting an auction site. Visit somebody’s auction site! Go to winebid.com and look at the wines, or go to eBay. There are so many categories there. Hit some of these sites and just browse. Look around.
After you do that, I suggest you buy something, because once you go through the whole motion as a consumer, as a customer of one of these sites, you get a very, very good feeling for how the whole process works. You will also, know what your customer is going through when you start selling. So, buy something. You don’t have to spend a lot of money, but buy something.
Okay, now it’s time to sell something . . . so what do you sell?
A lot of people say, “Oh, well, I don’t know what to sell.” Have a garage sale on the 61 Internet. Everybody’s got stuff in their house that they no longer need. Then, if we’re having fun, the way to get more products is to go to garage sales. If you know the price, if you’re a guy that could win the Price is Right on TV in a certain category, just go around and look for stuff at garage sales. You don’t need to buy a lot of it, but if you see a deal, something that’s just an incredible bargain like that Mark Twain book, of course you snap that up.

If you just get over that fear and start with the one thing, the one idea, that excites you most, then you can carry that over to success – seeing small successes – and then you can start trying other things that maybe you weren’t so sure about but that you know will work if you’ll just get out there and use them.
